About
Hi! My name is Melanie Milne Davies and I am a lover all things design, food, travel and lifestyle. I have been in magazines for most of my career – although I began my creative journey in New York, studying at Parsons School of Design and learning the tools of the trade at one of Manhattan’s last existing printing presses. Since 2006, I’ve been back in Sydney where I’ve worked for some of this country’s most recognised – and respected – magazines. Currently I am the Creative Director across several titles within the independent publishing house Primary Ideas. These include T Australia: The New York Times Style Magazine; Winning Magazine and Maserati’s Il Tridente Magazine. I’ve worked as Art Director for the award-winning The Australian Financial Review Magazine, Luxury magazine and Sophisticated Traveller; worked on business titles BRW and Smart Investor; and led the creative team at Voyeur, Virgin Australia’s popular inflight magazine. I’ve also been fortunate to work on a wide spectrum of freelance projects, for corporate heavyweights to stay-at-home mums re-establishing their business identities. Each has been an exciting challenge and absolute pleasure. Outside of work, I am an avid baker. the proud mum of 2 vivacious little boys, relish spending time with my family – and enjoying all things food, travel and lifestyle!
